The problem

  • Stock imagery, that falls into the same healthcare cliches and shows nothing of your range in use
  • Products on white, so a buyer can't see who it helps or the difference it makes
  • A generalist who can't get in, so the shots happen in a studio or not at all
  • No consistent look across your range, so pictures from different years and shoots don't feel like one business

Result: you've got content, but nothing buyers believe on sight, so trust takes longer and the next launch or tender needs pictures you don't have.

The solution

One team plans and shoots photography, video or both at once, built around your range and delivered as a house style library your team can use across the website, the e-shop, sales decks and social.

  • Products in real use, in the hands of the people who use them, in the wards and homes they're made for
  • Access arranged, with consent and what can be shown agreed before the day
  • The moment it helps, the person using it and the reaction, not just the product
  • One consistent look, so every product line feels like one business
  • Smaller pieces from every shoot, short clips and stills for social, the e-shop and the catalogue
  • One shoot, years of use, lightly retouched and ready within 1 to 5 working days, so it's still working for you in two years

Outcome: buyers see your products making someone's life easier, and believe it.

WHY REALCARE MEDIA

Stress-free production

One shoot produces years of usable content

A small team setting up a photography shoot in a home kitchen

Twenty-three years in commercial photography, with video now alongside, for brands including Lenovo, Tesco, Cow & Gate, AEG, VW and Lloyds, with work selected for Lürzer's Archive and 200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide. Anyone can take a photo or a video. The skill is knowing what a moment needs to say, and capturing it in a way your marketing team can actually use. Most production companies know how to shoot and edit. Very few know how to show the difference a product makes to a person's life, on a ward or in a home, and that's the part buyers remember.

  • Setting-aware planning, built around access, consent and what each ward or home is happy to have shown
  • Calm, low-disruption capture, with a small footprint so staff stay focused on their work
  • People-first direction, so the people who use and support your products relax and look like themselves
  • A proper brief upfront, so what we capture is what your team actually uses
  • Ready-to-use files, organised for website, social, recruitment and PR
  • An extension of your marketing team, not another supplier to manage

The guardrails we build into every brief

Wrong cues we avoid
  • Anyone in frame without consent
  • Patient or resident detail, or anything sensitive in shot
  • Cluttered or off-limits areas
  • Poses that feel staged or like stock
  • Detail of a product you want kept back
Warm cues we capture
  • Your products in real use, in the hands of the people who use them
  • Real wards, homes and clinical settings, with access arranged
  • Staff and users at ease, with consent agreed beforehand
  • The details buyers check, how it works and how it's used
  • One consistent look across your range

Natural, warm, premium
Built around your values
Delivered so your team can actually use it

Product photography in action at GV Health

A one-day product shoot for a global infection-control manufacturer, shot in a university medical simulation centre so clinical waste bags, aprons, spill kits and sharps bins could be photographed in use, on a ward, by people in the roles that use them.

The brief

Product photography "in situ" for a manufacturer of infection-prevention and waste-management products: six types of clinical waste bag, aprons and tabards, spill kits, sharps and specimen bags, plus GV's training staff and ward environments, for website, social, email and international exhibitions.

The challenge

Hospitals, as Izmah put it, are "quite sensitive areas" and "probably not in a position" to lend space for a shoot. Nearly 80 shots in a day, imagery that looked real rather than stock, and new products under NDA.

Our approach
  • Put GV in touch with a university medical simulation centre: a ward, no patients
  • Brought in the team: stylist, the hair and make-up artist from our Florence shoot, our assistant
  • Three models on the day, in patient, nurse, consultant and cleaning-staff roles
  • Usage taken to the agencies and NDAs returned by every crew member before the day
  • Shot to a laptop and an iPad so GV could call compliance as shots were taken
  • Delivered in priority order, all inside their exhibition artwork cut-off
What we delivered
  • A product library across five product groups, in use, on a ward
  • Fully retouched hero images for website, exhibitions and print
  • Files for website, social, email and exhibitions
  • Images still in use across GV's marketing and social two years on
"Seb understood the sensitivities of our sector and helped us create product imagery that felt credible, natural and genuinely relevant to healthcare."

WHAT ONE DAY CAN PRODUCE

We turn one shoot into months and years of content

Photography and video, shot together by one team. Maximum output, minimum disruption.

Video is no longer optional. People want to see your care, your product or your technology working, not just read about it. Short testimonials from the people you serve. A real glimpse of the day. What makes you different, shown rather than claimed.

But here's the problem: most healthcare teams don't have the time or skills to make professional video in house. And when they try, it either looks amateur or sits unedited on someone's laptop for months.

We shoot photography and video together. You get both, without doubling the time on site, and everything comes back edited, formatted and ready to use: short clips for social, longer pieces for your website, and stills that match.

Frequently asked questions

How do you get emotion into a product shoot?

We start with a person, not the product. Who uses it, what it changes in their life, and the moment that shows it: a nurse with time back for a patient, a carer who can stop worrying, someone getting on with their day. We cast and direct for that moment, put the product in real hands in a real setting, and capture the reaction as well as the product.

Do real users need to appear on camera?

Not necessarily. Real staff and users are the most believable, but we can also bring professional models and shoot in your real settings. Either way we direct gently, so people look at ease, and the day never depends on one person turning up.

How do you handle access, consent and what can be shown?

We agree the consent process and the no-go areas with your team and the setting before the shoot begins, including who can appear and what they're comfortable with. We only shoot people where the right approval is in place.

How disruptive is the day?

One production day is the usual starting point. We plan around the setting's routines and work in short, calm sessions with a small crew, so staff aren't pulled away from their work.

Can the library work across our whole range?

Yes. We build one consistent look and plan the day product by product, so the website, the catalogue, the e-shop and social all match. Later shoots top it up when new products arrive.

Can we capture products and people in one day?

Often, yes. The key is prioritisation. One day can usually cover products in use, the people behind them, headshots and a launch set. If you want everything covered, we agree what matters most first and build the shot list around it.

What are your rates?

It depends on the products and settings you want covered, whether we're using models and where the content will run. After a short discovery call, we'll put clear options in front of you, with deliverables, so you have something to take to whoever signs it off.

Ready to show your products working in the real world?

Book a short call. We'll talk about your products, your challenges and what you need the content to achieve. There's no obligation and no hard sell, just a conversation to see whether we're a good fit.
